Sarah Al Charif
Sarah Al Charif, Founding Director of Ruwwad Al Tanmeya
Al Charif leads a community development and youth empowerment organization in Tripoli’s Tebbaneh and Jabal Mohsen, regions affected by ongoing sectarian conflicts. She drives positive change in these sensitive areas, fostering post-conflict reconciliation through education, economic empowerment, civic engagement, social entrepreneurship, and peacebuilding.
Al Charif’s commitment to women’s advancement led her to establish Atayeb Tarablos, a community kitchen, and more recently, Beit El Mina Restaurant, both initiatives under Ruwwad. These projects support financially distressed women affected by armed conflict, with all proceeds directed toward education.
Recognized as a young leader and influencer, Al Charif participated in the EU Visitors Programme (EUVP Program) and was nominated as a Future Leader by the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the French Embassy in Lebanon (PIPA Program).
Her notable engagements include representing Lebanon at the World Economic Forum’s Annual Summit in 2018 and being an alumna member of esteemed programs, such as The Swedish Institute’s She Entrepreneurs Program, Global Shapers Community, World Economic Forum, and THNK School of Creative Leadership Global Network.
