Sarah Al Charif, Founding Director of Ruwwad Al Tanmeya

Al Charif leads a community development and youth empowerment organization in Tripoli’s Tebbaneh and Jabal Mohsen regions amidst ongoing sectarian conflicts. She drives positive change in sensitive areas, fostering post-conflict reconciliation through education, economic empowerment, civic engagement, social entrepreneurship, and peacebuilding. Al Charif’s commitment to women’s advancement led her to establish Atayeb Tarablos, a community kitchen, and more recently, Beit El Mina Restaurant, both under Ruwwad, supporting financially distressed women affected by armed conflict while contributing all sales proceeds to education. Recognized as a young leader and influencer, she participated in the EU Visitors Programme (EUVP Program) and was nominated as a Future Leader by the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the French Embassy in Lebanon (PIPA Program). Al Charif’s notable engagements include representing Lebanon at the World Economic Forum’s Annual Summit in 2018 and being an alumna member of esteemed programs such as The Swedish Institute – She Entrepreneurs Program, Global Shapers Community, World Economic Forum, and THNK School of Creative Leadership Global Network.
