Oumaya Syagha, a social activist, environmental advocate, and experienced trainer

Syagha is a passionate social activist and environmental advocate with extensive experience in training and community engagement. With a career spanning decade, she has been at the forefront of initiatives that address social, environmental, and gender-related issues in Lebanon.

She currently serves as the Head of SOIL Society (Save Our Inherited Land), an organization dedicated to environmental preservation, and is an active member of MIDAL Society, where she contributes to community development. She has also been a facilitator with organizations such as Peace Labs and KAFA, focusing on peacebuilding, reconciliation, and gender perspectives.

Her dedication to community service includes over a decade of involvement with the Love Women Association, where she has worked on initiatives to empower women. She also served as Vice President of the Civil Association for Student Support (CASS) from 2001 to 2010, supporting educational opportunities for students.

Syagha’s contributions have been recognized with several awards, including the Shield Award from the Municipality of Hasbaya in 2022 for her environmental advocacy and a national ranking in competitions highlighting education and media’s impact on youth.

As a seasoned trainer, she has conducted workshops and training sessions on topics ranging from gender-based violence communication to sustainable waste management, psychosocial support, and conflict mediation. Her certifications include training with the Professional Center for Mediation at Saint Joseph University and the United Nations Commission for Women’s Affairs.
