Loubna Ezzedine
Loubna Ezzedine, a certified mediator in South of Lebanon
Ezzedine has made it her mission to empower women and youth as a peace mediator at the community level. Her focus is on building trust and consensus among conflicting parties. After participating in a community mediation programme in 2019, Ezzedine, together with five other women, was granted a scholarship to obtain a Professional Certification in Mediation Skills. The programme was provided by UN Women in partnership with the University of Saint Joseph’s Centre for Professional Mediation.
In 2013, Ezzedine founded and continues to preside a committee for women at Deir Qanoun Al Naher’s municipality. The committee has influenced women’s work and participation in the area through capacity building and common activities.
She is also the founder and president of Univert, an environmental non-profit organization. Founded in Tyre in 2017, Univert collaborates with youth and high school students to raise awareness and environmental projects.
